HauntCon

Description

Join Amateur Film Makers from across the country for the Annual HAuNTcon Amateur Horror Film Festival!

Many Haunters dream of writing/producing/directing movies and they use their Haunted Attractions as a creative outlay for their movie making desires. Now, there is a chance for Haunters to make their own films and compete against others for fun, awards, recognition and prizes at the 1st Annual HAuNTcon Amateur Horror Film Festival!

Details

Film Categories are divided into; Short Film (less than 30 min) and Feature length (over 60 min), and each of those categories are divided into Low Budget (under $10,000 to produce) and High Budget ($10,001 and Up). Prizes will be awarded for first second and third place in each category. A small entry fee is required.

Acceptable movie themes include Horror, Paranormal, Haunt Related, Ghosts, Ghouls, Zombies or monsters of any kind. Movies can be “R rated” but any film deemed pornographic will be removed from the competition without refund.

The top 3 in each category will be screened during the convention as midnight movies Friday and Saturday Nights. Awards for the winning movies will be given at the annual costume ball on Saturday May 20th. Winning movies will be posted on HAuNTcon website and linked to the movie maker’s website. We are also working with Denver theaters to try and get the winning movies shown to the public in a special screening.
