Welcome actors & directors, This is a unique group set up purely for actors and directors to work together on scenes specifically for film. For the director, this group will sharpen their tools on communicating with the actor on delivering what they want out of a scene; pushing performance and obtaining something organic from the actor that makes them an interesting character to watch on screen. For the actor, it is highly resourceful working with various types of directors and harnessing their tools to make an adjustments, take a note and playing within the realms of film to establish a believable performance as instructed by the director during these sessions. The sessions run every Wednesday night from 7p.m. - 10p.m. at the American Film Institute. The class is capped at only 8 actors per session, with 1 director to conduct the scenes. We are only focusing on film actors and directors to participate in this group; so please ensure that if you are interested in attending that you have the credited experience to back it up. If you are up for the challenge, then please write to wordoftheactor@yahoo.com to ensure you have secured a spot for participating. Please submit resume with complete credits for both directors and actors. Sessions are priced at $15 per actor/director and is only available in Los Angeles, California & Singapore. The tools we have must remain sharp and should be perpetually active and never remain dormant. This group is set up to ensure the muscle of communication between actor and director remains open and fluid. A pivotal exercise, for the artiste.
